Training program prepares 100% of the technicians in South Africa

CCBSA periodically conducts training in physical and virtual form

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has a mobile and virtual training program that trains employees in various geographical locations, teaching repair activities on the company's main assets. The project is formed by a specialized team that allows the bottler to offer customers more quality in its services.

The plan is well optimized and divided in two ways, offering practicality to employees in the specialization process. The virtual training is done through a platform that provides video classes with an expert on the subject, covering all the steps in a very complete way, such as the technical part of the refrigerator, electricity, refrigeration system, cleaning, and much more. The program also has a virtual training room on the Teams platform that is accessible to all the company's phones and provides materials on cold storage equipment. The main motivation for the platform was to ensure the quality of care during the pandemic.

The project's other training option, aimed at in-person training, but also in remote areas, makes a car available to visit these employees in their respective regions. Called the Dedicated Training Vehicle, it is fully adapted, and its training method uses theoretical and practical teachings for equipment such as coolers, mega coolers, vending machines, fountains, and even coffee machines. In the year 2021 the vehicle traveled 27,000 km in training to the cities served by the bottler.

Bottler also has a technical center located in Johannesburg. The location is intended for the teams closest to the city, who have the viability to learn in fully equipped classrooms, enabling practices equivalent to those performed in the day to day by the technicians, with real equipment failures.

At the end of the training, the employees go on technical visits with more experienced professionals, being able to observe the conduct and carry out repairs under the coordination of the person in charge.

To date, CCBSA has a total of 184 own field technicians and 460 workshop technicians, for refurbshiment at its facilities, who periodically undergo these trainings.
